The advantages of corten steel raised garden beds:
Durability: The weather resistance of Corten steel means that it is resistant to corrosion and oxidation, thus having an extremely long service life in outdoor environments. Once a rust layer has formed, the steel is protected from further rust.
Beautiful : The unique rusted appearance of Corten steel can add a modern and industrial aesthetic to the garden, and its color and texture will change over time, helping to enhance the visual effect of the overall garden design.
Environmental protection : Corten steel is a recyclable material, using it can reduce the impact on the environment.
Strong support performance : Corten steel has high strength, can withstand large weight, suitable for planting heavy plants or soil.
Easy maintenance : Compared to raised garden beds made of wood or other materials, Corten steel has very low maintenance requirements, requiring only regular surface cleaning of dirt and plant residue.
Good water management: corten steel raised garden beds can effectively regulate soil moisture and prevent excessive or insufficient water.
Ventilation : Corten steel design can provide a good ventilation environment, help root growth.
The most diverse design : Corten steel can be processed into a variety of shapes and sizes to meet the needs of different horticultural designs.
Prevent soil erosion : The elevated structure can effectively prevent soil erosion and settlement, and maintain the position and quality of the soil.

Corten steel undergoes a hot rolling method during production, which sees the steel being passed between rollers at very high temperatures. During this process, the iron waste material (known as ‘mill scale’) moves to the surface. This leads to rust run off and staining during the early stages of the weathering process. Once the outer iron waste layer has rusted away, the material has a stable surface with minimal shedding or staining. The process can be accelerated, or the raw material can be ‘pickled’ where an acid treatment is used to remove the mill scale prior to delivery.
